Chief Accountant (JP Speaking)

Our client is a Japan-headquartered technology company with over 350 employees globally, including robust offshore development centers in China and Vietnam. The company is expanding its presence to strengthen cross-border collaboration and ensure financial operations run smoothly across its international branches.

To support this growth, they are seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant (Japanese Speaking) to take charge of all accounting activities in the Vietnam office and act as a key liaison with both local authorities and the Japanese head office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Chief Accountant, you will ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting operations, while facilitating financial communication between the Vietnam office and the head office in Japan.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform data entry and manage financial records using MISA accounting software.

• Work closely with a local accounting consulting firm to review and verify accounting data.

• Handle tax filings including Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT).

• Prepare and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Japanese head office.

• Support external audits and act as a liaison for local government authorities.

• Collaborate with Japanese and Vietnamese teams (including a Japanese Director and Vietnamese Project Managers) on accounting-related matters.

• Support other finance-related tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a candidate with both solid accounting expertise and Japanese communication skills to work in a cross-cultural setting.

• Female, aged 30–45

• 8+ years of accounting experience in Japanese companies

• Japanese proficiency: JLPT N2 or higher

• Holds a valid Chief Accountant Certificate

• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards and local tax regulations

• Proficiency with accounting tools (e.g., MISA)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
